New economic development strategy for the canton of Fribourg

The canton of Fribourg is adopting a new economic development strategy that supports the existing economic structure, encourages job creation and increases the value added per job. While maintaining sustainable development in line with the government program, the strategy builds on the canton’s economic strengths and the investments made in recent years. The State Council is now placing the emphasis on the bio-economy, Industry 4.0 and the further strengthening of sector diversity, all in accordance with the principle of sustainable development. The new economic development strategy of the canton of Fribourg is the result of interdisciplinary work involving several directorates of the cantonal administration as well as various economic and academic partners. It will remain in force at least until the end of the legislative period 2022-2026.
